Countries like Jamaica will not be amused that a hip hop Bible has been released. Of course, by the reaction of youth across the globe, it is clear that either the church is loosing its influence, or the ‘demons’ have gained in their impact.
There is indeed a bible of hip hop, set to free souls with its doctrine and music. Its titled The Gospel of Hip Hop: The First Instrument and those behind it are promoting the new hip hop religion with the doctrines based on the ‘gospel of hip hop.’
The 66-page book of 600 pages is the brainchild of Hip-hop legend KRS-One. No sense beating your gum, especially if there is no strategy as the Now the Boogie Down Productions legend has never been afraid of controversy.
When asked about the book that examines the culture of the music, KRS-One told AllHipHop.com “It explores the spirituality of Hip-Hop, the divinity of Hip-Hop. I’m suggesting that in 100 years, this book will be a new religion on the earth”.
The real question for the ‘religous’ minds is …”Will the hip hop religion replace the popular sought beliefs of Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Bhuddism, Hinduism someday, anyday soon?
